Introduction Treatment of English collocations has
only recently begun to find its way in pedagogical materials targeted at the
learner of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). This essay will first, draw
an outline of the concept of collocation and examine relevant aspects of the
way collocational studies are conducted; second, it will look into the
(actual and potential) contribution of the findings of collocational studies
to EFL instruction and support materials, as well as examine the pedagogical
treatment of the collocational properties of lexical items in them |
